I'm Sorry You're Out

It's a brand new season of Project Runway! I started off really excited about season 12...but it has been a bit of a let down. The changes that they made to the show seem like a desperate attempt to keep things "hot" and relevant. I don't know about you, but when I tune in to the show I want to see creative designs from interesting designers. So far I've mainly seen catty drama, with a few surprisingly amazing designs. Now that Timothy and Sandro are gone hopefully we can get back to business.

Top 3 Favorite Designs (so far)

where 2 shop- what 2 buy

Forever 21
It's a great place to find really cheap basics and try out new trends without breaking the bank. But do remember, you get what you pay for, so a lot of the pieces you get at forever 21 won't stand the test of time.

Pros

  • location (you can find one almost anywhere!)
  • price
  • trendy options
  • online store
  • free shipping over $50

Cons

  • clothing quality
  • accessory quality
  • return policy
  • everybody and their grandmother (unfortunately) seems to shop here

H&M
Very similar to forever 21 in terms of price and clothing quality, but a little bit more mature looking, less junior. They recently opened their website up to online purchases, which is awesome if you don't have an H&M store near you.

Pros
  • price
  • decent/ good quality
  • trendy options
  • online store purchase (recent addition)

Cons
  • clothing/ accessory quality

asos
They have a wide range of clothing, accessory, and shoe options at all different price ranges. And free 2-way shipping, what more could you ask for?

Pros

  • great quality
  • free 2 way shipping
  • return policy
  • trendy options
  • wide range of prices
Cons
  • limited store front locations

new store find:

boohoo.com
Recently purchased from this site, and it was a pretty good experience. They have a lot of basic and trendy pieces for low-to-mid range prices and they have really good sales. Only real downside was the exchange/return policy.

pros

  • decent quality
  • price
  • trendy options

cons

  • return policy
  • no exchanges (for certain countries)

How 2 Wear: Matchy Matchy

The Matchy Matchy trend has been really huge this season, so here's a few tips and tricks on how to pull it off!

DO choose an interesting print!--No granny florals please

DON'T go over the top with the accessories--keep it simple

DO go for a suit--breaking up the look into separates makes it a little easier to wear.

DON'T be afraid to go bold!--you're already wearing a head-to-toe matchy look, might as well rock it

It's Black & White

i love pairing black and white together with a pop of color in the accessories like the shoes or bag. i'm not to big on graphic tees, but the sweatshirt had a cool play on the explicit content symbol with a positive spin. and how else can you profess your love for Christ other than on your chest...well other than saying/living it daily, of course.
